Fifth edition of the Lucca Film Festivals

The Association will (s) ta Nova, following receipt of the success at the Berlin Festival, announced the dates for the fifth year of the Lucca Film Festival.
The festival this year record the contribution of the Municipality and the Province of Lucca, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca Foundation Banca del Monte di Lucca.
The sites are the Teatro San Girolamo and the Cinema Center of Lucca .
The event this year omaggerĂ French Robert Cahen, one of the most important video artists in Europe. With confirmation of the important collaboration with the Foundation radiant exhibition spaces of the Foundation will come to life with an unprecedented exhibition curated by Professor Sandra Cahen Lischi University of Pisa.
The exhibition will open at the same time the fifth film festival of Lucca omaggerĂ the multifaceted artist, who announced his presence in Lucca, with a complete retrospective of his films.
Three short film project "Twenty Puccini, Puccini on the work commissioned by the association Vi (s) ta Nova, organizers of the Lucca Film Festival, were selected at the Berlin International Film Festival to be held February 5 to 15. The three short films selected in the 59th Berlinale are: "V2 (Puccini)" by Christian Lebrat, "Puccini kept" by Michael Snow and "Play" by Stephen Dwoskin within the section "Forum Expanded 2009". Will be screened every day of the Festival.
The "Twenty Puccini" was created to honor the great composer 150anni its inception. The young organizers Lucchesi asked twenty world-class directors to make a short film inspired by the great master, as a gift to the festival and the city.
Among the filmmakers who contacted and joined enthusiastically in the project include some of the biggest names in the history of independent cinema and not only by Tsai Ming Liang (guest of honor at the fourth year of the Lucca Film Festival), Michael Snow, Stephen Dwoskin Tonino De Bernardi, Lorenzo Recio Brady Corbet.
The work was premiered during the 2008 Lucca Film Festival, with the presence of many of the authors and local authorities.
What it was is a collective film, a mosaic of video to relive, through the filter of sensitivity and experience at all different from each other, the work of one of the most important and beloved musicians in the world.
