From Monday, October 26 also kicks off in Lucca province, the festival Planet Galileo scientific initiatives that will run until Friday, November 6 and will affect, in addition to capital and Lucca, as the Versilia, the Serchio Valley and the Garfagnana.
The purpose of the event is to bring together the world of school with that of scientific research with a month of events in all provinces of Tuscany under the auspices of two stars of scientific thought: Galileo and Darwin, respectively, this year celebrating the fourth centenary the first astronomical observations made by the astronomer Pisa, and the hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the publication of revolutionary work on the origin of species written by British scientist.
